Introdu ction:
Artemia is a kind of crustacean which is salt-resitance, widely distributed all over the world. Presently, above 85% acqualture larva is breeded by it. As an important bait,people attach important to it. And the most famous artemia is produced by Bohai Bay, China. And our artemia is harvested from brine pan in Bohai Bay. Artemia has two kind of reproduce method, one called apomixis while the other calledgamogenesis. And these two kind reproduce can form larva or lay eggs directly. And in the condition of direct¡ªegg---laying, it can form two kind of spawn.s---summer spawn and winter spawn. And summer spawn can be hatched to larva directly in the water, while the winter spawn becomes to resting cysts. Artemia will lay resting cysts when the living environment changes greatly such as low temperature, lack of food and so on.The resting cysts have thick shell and can resisit abominable environment, and can¡¯t be hatched directly.the artemia group protect their afterworld in this way, and was hatched when the environment becomes natural. The resting cysts can saved for about 5 years, and when it is in the salt water again, or under wet environment, it will into hatchery process--- pip from the shell and to be nauplii.
Advantage:
1. The artemia larva is quite rich in yelk, protein and fat ( Protein >65%, and fat >20%), hereby it is the best natual bait for Fish fry and shrimp larva. It have high nutritive value in that and the hatching rate is very steadily. It is different with the salt lake artemia cysts on the west of China and Great Slat Lake artemia in U.S.A
